Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina made a name for himself this year by refusing the federal stimulus money handed out by the Obama Administration. By standing on principle he won the hearts of true conservatives across the country, including myself. However, the governor might be forced to take the money by the courts in his state. Mark Sanford is a notorious fiscal conservative in South Carolina.  As governor he tried to open up SC school districts to competition by allowing parents to choose where their children went to school.  Unfortunately, the local teachers' union and its supporters were up in arms over Sanford's plan, calling it unfair.  The school choice bill was defeated, but Sanford is starting another fight which has caught the attention of the news media: he rejected as much as $8 billion from the stimulus bill which was bound for South Carolina.
