Petition to End the Wars Update

Today the House held a debate on whether or not to end the war in Afghanistan. This means we now have a bill that we can petition our local members of Congress to co-sponser. The bill is H.R. 248 to remove the United States Armed Forces from Afghanistan. Ron Paul is already a co-sponser of this bill.

Here is the updated petition

Activism Grant for Petition to End the War Month

YAL's antiwar campaign for the month of March is a great opportunity to reach an unprecedented number of students on campus. Protesting for peace is perennially popular on college campuses, but the question remains: How creative and enthusiastic will YAL groups be in standing up to end our foreign adventurism?

Regardless of whether it's getting as many petition signatures as possible and then giving them to your local congressmen, or scheduling an exciting activism event on campus, YAL is offering up to $150 in activism grants to help with your efforts, as well as copies of the new issue of YAR.

Stuck on ideas? Read through The Petition to End the War Handbook, which includes a lot of activism ideas.

Tennesse YAL delivers a bit of Liberty to Rep. Bart Gordon

The spirt of freedom is alive and well within the 6th district of Tennesse. Local members of Young Americans for Liberty, Campaign for Liberty, and others headed to Rep. Gordon's office to exercise their constitutional right of a redress of greivances.

Through their hard work they have collected 300+ signitures in support of HR 1207. Hopfully Rep. Gordon will head the words of wisdom presented by these liberty minded people and join the now 282 co-sponosors to audit the Fed. This group's work should be a motivator for YAL chapters everywhere as we enter our new school year to continue the momentem that we generated last year.

New Wave of Petitions: Stop Government Healthcare

The fight to push forward HR 1207 isn't over, but today Congressman Ron Paul has announced in a message from Campaign for Liberty that a new and utterly disastrous attack on our Liberties has come:
As both a defender of Liberty and a Medical Doctor, I’m very concerned about the plans the Obama Administration and many in Congress have to increase the government’s role in healthcare. Medical decisions being made by government bureaucrats, loss of privacy of medical data, and our ability to keep our own insurance and doctors are all
