Surprise! Health Care Reform Will Add to Deficit

The Washington Post came out with a revelation today that should shock no one:

But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president's twin goal of controlling runaway costs, raising projected spending by about 1 percent over 10 years. That increase could get bigger, since Medicare cuts in the law may be unrealistic and unsustainable, the report warned.

It's a worrisome assessment for Democrats.

"The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits." -- Albert Einstein

No, I am not shocked as I know you are not either. However, what does enrage me is that all the ignoramuses that claimed this fascist health care plan would be a descending gift from the heavens REFUSED to read the actual bill.  However, let us look at the picture from a broader perspective:  Who is really to blame for this bill?  Obviously the already dying Republican Party and, more specifically, Mitt Romney. University of California-San Diego Protests Healthcare Bill

Here at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) we are finally off to our Spring Break. And, we're getting prepared for big things this coming quarter. Last month we held a protest against the recently passed health care bill.

YAL Protest

If you don’t know where UCSD is located, we are in La Jolla, California, one of the wealthiest communities in the United States.  The health care bill has often been portrayed as a struggle between rich whites vs. poor minorities, so one might expect the residents of La Jolla would have supported our protest...right?  On the contrary, many of the wealthy in California are for big government, probably because most of them have gained their wealth through corporatist interests.
