Southern Poverty Law Center vs. Dr. Ron Paul and Judge Andrew Napolitano

In yet another attempt to equate political dissent to terrorism, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC); an American legal advocacy organization that publishes a quarterly Intelligence Report  investigating extremism and hate groups in the United States, included Dr. Ron Paul and Judge Andrew Napolitano in its April, 2010 Publication, Meet the "Patriots."

This publication labels Dr. Paul as a "Radical Libertarian" and a "Conspiracy Theorist."  It suggests that Judge Napolitano missed out on an opportunity to "rub elbows with neo-confederates, conspiracy theorists, and antigovernment patriot activists" when he was unable to speak at a Tenth Ammendment Summit in Atlanta this past February.   This publication also demonizes 2008 Presidential Candidate Chuck Baldwin,  former IRS Agent Joe Banister, Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America (GOA) and many more.  It should be noted that many militia Organizers who may or may not present a legitimate threat also appeared in this same publication.

The Hypocrisy of the State

The irony of the state is that its chief political actors want us to think of them as individuals. This is hardly surprising -- they are people, after all, and beholden to the same proclivities and social desires as is the rest of humanity.

The current head head of state, Barack Obama, likewise wants us to think of him as an individual. Someone who screws up sometimes, but loves his wife and beautiful children. Someone who abused drugs in the past, but has managed to become a responsible and effective member of society.

While many people are appreciate the personal nature of much of what politicians tell them, I am disgusted by it. Disgusted by the hypocrisy of a president who wants us to get to know and appreciate the family he undoubtedly loves, but dehumanizes the voiceless Afghan child he murders as expendable "collateral damage."  Disgusted by the hypocrisy of a government which shackles and kidnaps people for making the same nonviolent mistake its sanctified leader did. Disgusted by the hypocrisy of a state that only seems to consider its power players, and those in cahoots with them, as fully human.

Economic riots, police ready for civil unrest, warn IMF

According to the U.S. Army War College's Strategic Institute, U.S. Soldiers may be needed to stop banks runs and to quell dissent. "Widespread civil violence inside the United States would force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security," the War College study states. The troubling actions of Paulson and Bernanke has done nothing for the economy with the one exception of making it far worse on the taxpayer.
