My mother, who writes for the Dixon Patch, ran this editorial which has been placed on several Patches in the surrounding area. Here's part of it:

... a story in Time Magazine says why the revolutions across the world are different this time: “The combination of youth and technology is driving a wave of change.” The story is about the Middle East revolution due to young, determined, democracy seekers who changed their world through Internet communications.

I’m filled with hope after seeing Ron Paul emerge as a presidential candidate a couple years ago backed by youth. The hard-working obstetrician and elected Texas congressman — and the constitution movement — had been virtually ignored and shunned by the media. I didn’t even know who he was and had never heard of him until I kept seeing signs and stickers that just said his name. So, at my son’s request, I went on YouTube to see him. You need to also.

Jack Hunter, AKA the Southern Avenger, has a new video about Young Americans for Freedom purging Ron Paul from its advisory board -- mostly due to his non-interventionist foreign policy views -- after he again won the CPAC presidential straw poll this year. Jack notes the long tradition of (real) conservatives that are opposed to empire and war, and how YAL's commitment to this truly conservative position on foreign policy is one reason why it's an organization with thousands of members that continues to grow.

We did it! AGAIN!

This past weekend at CPAC 2011, the largest annual conservative conference in the country, Young Americans for Liberty mobilized more than 700 students to join us in Washington, DC and send a loud and clear message to the political establishment: Your time is up. Restore the Constitution!

With the largest vote total in the conference's history, Congressman Ron Paul won the 2012 Presidential Straw Poll for the second year in a row.

At least 11,000 conservatives attended CPAC 2011 -- another record-breaker for CPAC.

The facts speak for themselves:  The liberty movement is the most active and fastest growing political force in the country.

So I ask you:  Are you ready to rise up in 2012?!?
