Ron Paul on Larry King

Ron Paul was on Larry King Live last night with Barney Frank discussing the health care bill currently in the Senate.

What is troublesome about this interview is particularly part two:  Ben Stein and Tanya Acker truly believe the economy would have completely collapsed if it weren't for Ben Bernanke's sole role in saving us. They also use this as an excuse to legitimize Bernanke's counterfeiting, throwing any morals out the window.

Part two below the jump.

Ron Paul on Larry King Tonight!

Tune into Larry King on CNN tonight at 9 pm ET for a health care reform debate. Ron Paul will be squaring off against the congressman with what seems to have dozens of marbles jammed in his mouth, the loveable Barney Frank.

This should be a wonderful show.

Tom Delay "danced" around Ron Paul?

From CQ Politics:

Long before he danced with the stars, then-House Majority Leader Tom DeLay two-stepped all over fellow Texas Rep. Ron Paul's hopes of overseeing the Federal Reserve, according to an account provided by House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank .

I know we love to hate on Barney Frank, but if we are to stay objective, the Democrats seem to have shown Dr. Paul more respect than anyone from the Republican leadership in the past.

In 2003, Ron Paul was in line to be chairman of the Domestic Monetary Policy Subcommittee of this committee. Specifically and solely to frustrate Ron from being the chairman, they merged the Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy with the Subcommittee on International Monetary Policy. Ron Paul then complained to Tom DeLay, and Tom DeLay told [then-Chairman Mike] Oxley [R-Ohio] 'Don't change it' ... [T]wo years later, even though they merged the two subcommittees in the progression, Ron was then again ready to be chairman, this time of the combined one.

Giving Credit Where Credit is Due -- Barney Frank Edition

We here at Young Americans for Liberty aren't huge fans of Barney Frank, but we like to acknowledge when people do things right.

Here is Barney Frank speaking about the Federal Reserve:

At 2:34, he says "We will subject them to a complete audit." He also says that the House will probably pass it in October.

Is this everything we wanted? No. He still wants Congress to intervene in places the FED has authority now, but an audit will go a long way towards liberty.

Parasite (Congressman) vs Host (Taxpayer)

Congressmen long ago ensured that their massive salaries would appreciate  every year.  This automatic increase is, of course, not contingent to how well the private sector is doing.  But since it is that "greedy" private sector that is made to pay for the extensive, lifelong perks our DC "public servants" enjoy, one would think they'd be a bit humble when talking to a taxpayer.

But in reality, what you often get is arrogance and whining, behavior similar to that of a do-nothing kid spoiled rotten by his parents. This was certainly the case when Barney Frank was hilariously confronted by Kane, regarding Frank's perceived timidity on moving HR 1207 forward.

Call Barney Frank!

It was 26 years ago that Ron Paul first introduced a bill to audit the Federal Reserve, and back then it only had 18 co-sponsors. The bill eventually died in committee, and never came to the house floor. Now it is 2009, and in February Ron Paul introduced the same type of bill, H.R. 1207, and in 4 months it has reached 245 co-sponsors.

Congress -- Republicans very much included -- have discounted Ron Paul as a Congressman that just votes no on everything. While he does vote no on most legislation, he has been a tireless worker for freedom and liberty in Congress.

This new bill to audit the Fed is proof that Paul knows what he is talking about: He is one of the few in Congress who understand the monetary system in the United States, and every time he questions the Fed chairman, you can see how uncomfortable he makes Bernanke.

You would think with over 245 co-sponsors, or a majority of the House, that the bill would be making its way through the Congress. But Fox News reports otherwise:

Unfortunately for Paul, the bill appears to be idling in the House Financial Services Committee, which is chaired by Barney Frank, D-Mass. The bill has been sitting there, gathering co-sponsors, since Paul introduced it in late February.

Why is Barney Frank sitting on this legislation that has huge support by the members? Is there something he doesn't want us to know?

I suggest everyone start emailing and call Barney Frank's office and demand a hearing on this bill, H.R. 1207. I would then demand that it be sent out of committee and put up to a full vote by the House. The American people deserve to know how their money is being spent by monetary thugs.
