Napolitano: Geithner May Face Criminal Charges

WaPo also reports on Geithner's troubles:

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner must have felt as if he'd made a wrong turn in the Rayburn House Office Building, and instead of taking a seat before the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform had wound up at the Committee on Insult and Abuse.

It was a rare moment of bipartisan agreement: Republicans and Democrats alike seemed to detest the guy....When Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-Neb.) asked another question about the lack of transparency, Geithner couldn't be troubled. "Well, I'm not sure if you were here for the prior conversation," he replied.  "I've been here the entire time," Fortenberry said.

The question is how much longer Geithner will be here.

AIG protesters should focus their anger on the real culprit: the government

In the past week or so, many Americans have expressed anger over the bonuses taken by AIG executives. Protesters have focused their attention AIG itself, seemingly ignoring the fact that it was Congress which made those bonuses possible by propping up the company with taxpayer dollars. One group upset about the bonuses even went so far as to visit the homes of executives who had recieved bonuses:

The American People Smell a Rat...Make That a Superrat.

The Washington Post published a story yesterday entitled "How the Fed Failed to Tell Obama About the Bonuses," referring to, of course, the scandal du moment in D.C. The story is interesting, but it's not news to us; we've known for a long time coming that Bernanke and the institutionalized theft he represents have been stealing the value from our currency for decades.
