Kokesh on the Military-Industrial Complex

As a guest on Russia Today, Iraq War Veteran Adam Kokesh, clearly articulates the practical approach to scaling back the military-industrial complex without threatening national safety.

Advocates of bi-partisanship in Washington DC would do well to listen closely:

"Brown People Have Natural Rights Too": An Interview With Adam Kokesh

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to be able to interview Adam Kokesh, the pro-peace Iraq War Vet and liberty Republican running for Congress in New Mexico's 3rd Congressional District (Note:  YAL does not support or oppose any candidate for office).

Adam and I discussed his personal experience in Iraq, his general path towards the philosophy of peace and liberty, the problems with the pro-war, statist political establishment, the general criminality and violence of the modern US state, and the political landscape of his district, as well as the overall country, leading up to the 2010 Congressional Elections.

The mp3 of the interview is currently too big to attach to this post, but for those of you that won't listen to this sort of thing without being able to download and put it in your Ipod, you can either wait 24 hours for me to fix this problem, or download the clips individually on YouTube.

Jane Hamsher, Adam Kokesh to be interviewed for YAL!

I am lucky to have two great guests lined up for a special doubleheader edition of the "The Matt Cockerill Show" on Saturday.

First, Jane Hamsher of FireDogLake. Hamsher is a prominent voice in the progressive blogosphere who, like the principled Glenn Greenwald, has not kowtowed before any of President Obama's Bush-lite policies. In fact, she has gone so far as to compare his war escalation in Afghanistan to the War in Vietnam.*  I'm hoping to get Hamsher, who has been very respectful to the Ron Paul movement (even attending the 2008 rally for the Republic), to try to help form a left-right coalition in opposition to the corporatism, aggressive war, and civil liberties incursions of the ruling Republicrat duopoly.

Second is Adam Kokesh, a well known activist in the peace and liberty movement. As most of you know, Adam is currently seeking the Republican nomination for US Congress in New Mexico's 3rd district and is an antiwar Marine Corps veteran of Iraq. YAL cannot endorse candidates for public office, so talk about the election will have to be dispassionate and informative. However, I plan on asking him some interesting personal questions.

Hit Pieces and Yellow Journalism

There are several things that neoconservatives are great at:  running America into the ground, starting wars, and marginalizing and villifying anyone that threatens their aristocracy. Establishment hack Michelle Malkin would make Bill Kristol proud after her vicious hit piece of Adam Kokesh. Malkin writes,

... and another prominent member who smeared the Young America’s Foundation by faking an anti-Muslim hate flyer and smeared David Horowitz with similar race-card playing flyers, then weaseled out of the attacks by claiming they were “satire.”

The last two incidents involved an IVAW member named Adam Kokesh. He marched in uniform in mock patrols for the anti-war movement, paraded around holding an upside-down American flag (see Jonn Lilyea for more), was arrested for defacing signs, and traveled to Germany to urge soldiers to abandon their posts and seek aid and comfort with his anti-war minions."

If Ms. Malkin would actually do some research, she would probably realize just how wrong she is.

Freedom Watch 07/15/09

Here is this week's episode of Freedom Watch -- which, if I must say, was above par for even this great show.

In this clip there is even some big news: Adam Kokesh announces that he is running for Congress as a Republican, a Constitutional Republican that is. Check it out for yourself and, as always, spread this episode of Freedom Watch around.
