SUPPORT

The Constitution Project is designed to provide YAL chapters with 150 of copies of the United States Constitution.  Our custom YAL Constitutions contain a Foreward by Ron Paul, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and the Articles of Confederation.

Along with sending YAL Chapters 150 Constitutions, we are equiping them with an Activism Kit, which will better prepare our students and bring our message to campuses.

We are still in need of your support for this project. If you are able to do so, please make a generous contribution to the Constitution Project here.

The new school year is rapidly approaching, and we cannot wait to continue last spring's momentum. YAL National worked tirelessly this summer to ensure YAL members and chapters have everything needed to continue the fight for Liberty on our campuses and communities.

We have prepared custom-designed pocket Constitutions as well as a complete Activism Kit to help your chapter start off the school year.

Each chapter has the freedom to use these resources in their own unique way.  We've heard from chapters who plan to table and distribute Constitutions to fellow students, organize a guerilla marketing campaign, hang flyers, post on blogs, and create social networking pages on Facebook and Myspace.

We are intentionally sending you these materials to coincide with September 17th's Constitution Day.

CONSTITUTION DAY

As of 2004, federally-funded schools are required by federal law to educate students n Constitution Day - September 17th.

Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year shall hold an educational program on the United States Constitution on September 17 of such year for the students served by the educational institution. [Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2005, Pub. L. No. 108–447, § 111, 118 Stat. 2809, 3344–45 (Dec. 8, 2004).]

While the merits of such legislation are questionable, let's take advantage of this opportunity.  Find out what your school has planned for Constitution Day.

We’re excited to see how each Chapter will use these resources, both for promoting your YAL Chapter and for educating others on Constitution Day. But however you decide to participate, don’t forget to document your activities.

Take photos, record videos, and write news articles.  Send press releases to your school's newspaper and the local media several days prior to your event; follow up with a phone call.  Get your event as much media attention as possible, and increase the reach of our pro-Constitution message.
