Have no more fear, the government knows best that spending money we don't have will fix our economy! In the video below, Fred Thompson explains to us exactly what the enlightened logic behind our representatives' economic plans seems to be. The plan is even laid out in layman's terms simple enough for us regular folk to understand! This video has an excellent way of dispelling the fancy lingo that politicians use to try and make the bailouts and economic stimulus plans sound wonderful and sophisticated.

First, a belated Merry Christmas to all of you and a happy New Year! As we are all returning home and to normal life from our holiday week, now becomes to time to replay the infamous family Christmas political arguements in our heads! This year, much of it has probably been focused on our failing economy and government "Bailouts" (otherwise known as "Insults to Injuries").

Though surrounded by the aura of prestige, its important the remember that the position of president is stilljust filled by a man. His mental faculties have not been granted superior enlightenment over his subjects....excuse me, I meant fellow citizens. But apparently, this president knows best.

Does it mean an even playing field, or a pedestal? Unfortunately, our country seems to be leaning torwards the pedestal idea these days. As we are all aware, the Clinton Senate seat is up for grabs. Women's advocacy groups are calling on Gov. Paterson to specifically appoint a woman (Article). As a young woman myself (perhaps particularly because of it), I'm outraged. This is not equality, and I don't appreciate these arguements being carried out in my name.

New York Governor David Paterson is aiming to propose a 15% tax on non-diet sodas in his state; an "obesity tax". Read the Article Here

Libertarianism: A State of Mind First, A Party Second.

Over the past election, I told people time and time again that I was a Libertarian, and much to their surprise (that is, if they were even aware of the other candidates), voted Constitutionalist. They often asked me why I broke away from my party lines; was Bob Barr that bad that I'd desert my party? Time and time again I found myself explaining no, that there is just a difference in being a Libertarian and being a member of the Libertarian party. Unfortunately, many people are under the false impression that the actual party and its namesake are simply one and the same.

As I'm a nursing student, our nation's health care news is of particular interest to me since it dictates my future; and of course, each and every one of us cares about our health (I hope!).
