Individual Rights: the Price of the So-Called 'Affordable Health Care Act'

While investigating the provisions in the "affordable health care" bill that will inevitably force me, and millions of others like myself who choose not to purchase health insurance, I recently asked a friend who is an Obama supporter about the bill's details. He referred me to healthcare.gov, which contained much useful and insightful information, including the fact that getting 8 hours of sleep a night is actually a healthy thing to do, and that hospitals and clinics are actually places that people can go to get immunizations, prescriptions and primary care. It seems that the writer of this website was an obvious graduate of DUH University.

Recently however, there have many court cases challenging the Obama administration's abuse of the commerce clause in the Constitution. These court cases challenge the Obama administration's use of the commerce clause to force individuals into purchasing health insurance as well as each individual state's right to oppose the federal legislation.

On Saturday, October 2, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., tens of thousands of like-minded altruists who think that more goverment control, programs, and spending is the answer to every problem imaginable, came together from all over the nation to be in one place and celebrate the epic failures of such idealogies like marxism, socialism, and collectivism as "One Nation."

The crowd was diverse...in some ways: It was compiled of people from many different socio-ecnomic classes, races, sizes, shapes, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and genders, as well as members of a number of different organizations. All, however, were united in their support of statism.

Attending groups included Communist Party USA , Democratic Socialists of America, Green for All, the Gray Panthers, the NAACP, Color of Change Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network. and the International Socialist Organization, to name a few. It was so delightful to see so many people who believe in human rights, peace, equal rights for all, and humanitarianism come together to support such a "peace-loving" idealism of the dark ages like socialism! </sarcasm>

Here is an interview with Irving Kristol (Billy's dad) in which he admits that he was once (and still is somewhat) a neo-marxist. It is important to notice how he distinguishes himself and other neo-conservatives from "traditional conservatives."

5 Suggestions that will help YAL chapters recruit more college students.

It is the start of the fall semester, and all across the country on college campuses YAL chapters are setting up tables, making signs, talking to fellow students, and promoting the message of liberty. Here are five key points that YAL members should emphasize on and keep in mind when they make signs, slogans, and banners to promote the message of liberty. Take it from me: I know how college students think; I used to be one of them.

1. Blame both political parties. It was a bipartisan effort that led our great country into this economic mess, and it is our message of liberty that will get us out of this mess. Say things like "The Democrats and Republicans BOTH to blame." Another good slogan would be "when Democrats go to bed with Republicans, it is the American people who truly get screwed." Of course, make a clear distinction between our movement and the established bipartisan monopoly that controls our country's political economy.

2. Promote the fact that the Federal Reserve is a PRIVATE INSTITUTION. There are many left-wing students who hate rich people and corporations. Remind them that even the richest people, as well as the lower-classes and everyone else, are enslaved to those who print the money! Remind all of the leftist students who love government regulation that we too support more government regulation...of the secretive institution that controls our money supply (or an end to it altogether). After all, this is a power restricted to our actual government by the Constitution itself!

Socialists claim to be "more progressive" than conservatives. This may be true, but libertarians are far more progressive than both sides. Libertarians value both economic and social freedoms, while the right only bothers with the former and the left with the latter. Libertarianism promotes the virtures of self-sufficency, individual liberty, a peaceful and mature foreign policy, and equal individual and economic freedom for all. Here are seven detailed reasons why libertarians are the true progressives:

7. Socialists believe that government is the answer to everything. It is the all-knowing, all-powerful, authoratarian ruler of all. By contrast, libertarians believe that individuals have the right and responsibility to govern themselves.

6. The left is famous to dividing people into "minority" groups. This creates segragation. Libertarians contend that all should have equal rights -- their sexual orientation, race, gender, eye color, hair color, or favorite flavor of ice cream are secondary to the fact that they are individuals.

The Two-Headed Leviathan

A gigantic monster has taken over our country, a two-headed sovereign that controls our federal, local, and state governments. This two-headed creature, which has one head of a donkey and the other of an elephant, has a monopoly of power in the political economy of these United States.

The most simple and well-known fact about the political economy in America is that it is ruled completely by the same two political factions. This widely known fact itself is often overlooked in most political debates. Almost all federal, state, and even local government officials are members of one of these two parties. Interestingly, the modern day Democratic Party was referred to as the "Democratic-Republican Party" until the late 1820s.

This sovereign's power lies not just within the government itself, but within the barriers of the two-party paradigm. The barriers of this realm go as far "left" as the mainstream left would go, and as far "right" as the mainstream right would go. Ron Paul's truly conservative view on foreign aid, for example, is outside the barriers of both the mainstream right and the mainstream left, leaving it thus outside the barriers of mainstream politics and not eligible for debate.

Bill Hicks Told the Truth on Foreign Policy

Bill Hicks was one of the best comedians of all time. He unfortnately died in 1992, but his work inspired such comedians as Dennis Leary and Doug Stanhope. This piece contains his thoughts about the first Iraq war back in 1991, but sadly the commentary still holds true today! As far as the Bush Administrations are concerned, the apple really doesn't fall far from the tree. Or to use another old cliche, like father, like son.

Warmongers Unite to Pressure RNC Chairman to Step Down

Recently Bill Kristol, Liz Cheney (daughter of Dick), and Erick Erickson and other neocons and digressive warmongers came together in agreement recently to suggest that GOP chairman Michael Steele step down from his position after making remarks about the Obama Administration’s strategy in Afghanistan. As Cody London mentioned in his post, there has been a gigantic push by Bill Kristol and other warmongering so-called “conservatives” to persuade Steele to resign, just because he might make the party look like it is taking a more peaceful stance on the war in Afghanistan than the Obama administration and the Democratic Party.

How wicked and un-patriotic of Steele to suggest that the war in Afghanistan is a lost cause, and for bringing up of all things, the history of wars in Afghanistan. He is such a terrorist, queue the thunder and lightning for his un-patriotic evil presence!

In Steele's defense, there is nothing in Steele’s statement that is even remotely suggesting that the war itself is a mistake, much less anti-war. In fact Steele himself referred to the war in Afghanistan as a "necessary endeavor" in a statement issued after his initial "controversial" comments. Just as Rand Paul's comments were twisted around by the media to imply racism, Steele's comments were twisted to imply that he may actually advocate a completely rational, logical, and mature non-interventionist foreign policy that may be considered "un-patriotic" by people with a considerable amount of influence in the GOP, like Bill Kristol.

A Blood-Thirsty Foreign Policy Will Only PROVOKE More Terrorism

The phrase "blood-thirsty" is most commonly used to describe those individuals with a lust for killing, and/or individuals who think that violence is the answer to everything. Therefore, it seems to be the perfect phrase to describe the neoconservative foreign policy and the Bush Doctrine.

Contrary to popular neoconservative belief, this doctrine is not a preventative measure taken by the Bush Administration to keep Americans safe from terrorists, but it is a foreign policy that strongly advocates imperialistic acts of unnecessary military aggression.

In other words, this doctrine promotes the cliché that "the best defense is a good offense." This may be true in football, but it is certainly not true at all in foreign policy, especially when "our enemies" are more than willing to sacrifice their own lives to kill others. This is a very dangerous enemy to have, especially for the American civilians.
