That's only applicable to those of us who are citizens. The Constitution is not a document which entitles all mankind, just those people wise enough to see liberty as the answer aand become Americans through legal means.

Actually, the Constitution clearly distinguishes between a "person" and a "citizen" -- that is, when it specifically means citizens, it uses that word.  Most of the rights it guarantees, however, are guaranteed to persons, not citizens.

That's not to say, of course, that illegal immigrants should recieve welfare services...but then, no one should do that, citizen or not.

Very nice response.  I must agree.  They're rights applicable to all.  After all, they're the rights endowed to us by our Creator, to use the Founders' words.

Exactly. Rights do not come from the government, we are born with them by virtue of our humanity.

And the Declaration of Independence says, "... all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights ..."
