I would like to purchase some of those silver rounds for $5.00:) You girls did a good job, I laughed and could have started crying. Keep up the good work. It was funny when you started running from the cops.

What do you expect? You were in Boston, but more specifically the people's republic of Cambridge. A community of people so caught up in their own ignorance that they champion helping poor, yet want the homeless removed from their public places.
The video truly seems unbelievable. If it is true, that you girls didn't find anyone willing to accept your offer, then, I must conclude that there is no hope left for mankind. There is no cure for stupid. Less than 1% of the people I meet "get it". I feel so alone and frustrated. If it weren't for my beloved internet contacts, I would have put a gun in my mouth long ago. Ladies, nice work showing the epidemic of pure ignorance in this country.

i'm no fan of the cambridge crowd, but this video is stupid. there are so many bums in harvard square that it's not surprising that those people stayed away from a deal that appears too good to be true. especially with that girl wearing dark sunglasses and selling them out of a trenchcoat. how would you feel if some bum sold you a fake coin for $5?
and why are the coins only .999 fine? you can easily find .9999 on the market.

The girl near the end who was presented with a dollar bill and a silver round asked the right question, "Is the silver coin real silver?" She has to take it on the offeror's word that it is silver. And when she asked for proof that it was silver, the offeror couldn't give it. I'd take the dollar, too. Without a reasonable certainty that the coin is what you say it is, the silver round is worthless as money. That's why pre-1965 junk silver coins are preferable to rounds for trading.

I think they should have used one-ounce U.S. Silver Eagles. They are easily identifiable. If someone showed me the coin they had, I wouldn't know if it was real silver either.

I found a 1956 dime once from the sound it made when I dropped it. Silver coins have a delightful tinkle that the clad coins of modern mintage lack. Drop the silver coin and listen closely. Real silver will "sing!"

It's obvious that 99% of American's have no idea what the value of precious metals are. They understand fiat currency will get them a six pack of beer, but don't understand the fact that silver reperesents lasting wealth. EVEN if the ladies explained it to them, they wouldn't get it.

People reacted normally to your offer, on camera, to give away something of value.
Watch the movie: "the magic christian" with Ringo Starr of the Beatles fame: about a billionaire who tries to give away money but cannot. Read up on it on WIKI PAEDIA
"Did I hear you say there must be a catch - would you walk away from a fool and his money?"
Look, ask the right person... they'd take all you had to offer: you just met the sheep, and the lambs were silent, as usual.

Obviously the trenchcoats were a problem. But even then. How do you know the coins are real. Or not just coated with silver. Do you have a scale? A way to measure density. A link to the spot price? All of these are reasons that silver is worthless as a medium of exchange, and peddling shiny metal to strangers as a way to prove how far our nation's currency integrity has fallen is little more than a stunt no matter how cute the girls doing it.
If you were serious about it, you should have taken the coins to a numismatist or a pawn shop, or possibly a bank. That, currently is where the market is liquid (at least a little). Not being able to move currency on the street, in the context of free market currency creation, is no more a proof that the people have failed than that the currency did.

Loved the subliminal V Moment. It took a few tries to pause it right, but that made my day. Thanks.
Ta,
...that I couldn't be on that street. I would've bought out the whole stock.

Nice work, quite enjoyable in a "if I didn't laugh, I'd cry" kind of way.

Right, because someone selling shiny coins for $5 from a trenchcoat seems legit.
If you keep watching, they do away with the trenchcoat very quickly.

Again, if you keep watching, they do away with the trenchcoat/sketchness very quickly.

These people vote.
And that is absolutely terrifying.

The presence of the videographer should have clued people in that these two girls weren't your typical street bums trying to fence stuff.
