Video: Who's Right, Ron or Rand?

The debt ceiling debate is over (for now), but it's important for libertarians to examine the different approaches of two key figures in the Tea Party movement: Rep. Ron Paul, and his son, Sen. Rand Paul.

Regarding the deal that actually got passed, both emphatically voted against it.

As for their differences on cut, cap, and balance, it's very possible that both were acting rationally but within separate value judgments.

Both value liberty and ending our addiction to debt, but Rand was more pragmatic to his approach while Ron was more dogmatic (those terms aren't intended to have any connotations attached to them for my purposes; just that one is willing judge his decisions off of the facts of the moment a little more while the other is willing to ignore those and say what -ought- to be slightly more).

No matter what, we got screwed on this recent deal.
