The Ohio Project IS FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SIGN THE HEALTH CARE FREEDOM AMENDMENT which aims to nullify the Obama-care mandate.

Supporters are too short on time and do not have a war chest of funds. Technology is the only route we have to successfully achieve the 500,000 signatures we need to place the amendment on the November 2010 ballot.

If you are interested in signing a petition in the next signature campaign, or volunteering to help circulate petitions once the amendment language is approved by the Ohio Attorney General, please sign up at The Ohio Project website here.

The member groups of The Ohio Liberty Council kicked off a campaign on Saturday, March 20th to collect 1,000 signatures in a petition drive that supports a new proposed amendment to the Ohio Constitution. The proposed amendment, “To preserve the freedom of Ohioans to choose their health care and health care coverage”, will be submitted for certification to the Ohio Attorney General’s office early next week.

The submission of at least 1,000 signatures from registered Ohio voters, plus an amendment that meets the state guidelines is what is required by the Ohio Secretary of State and Ohio Attorney General to place an amendment on the ballot for the people of Ohio to decide on it in a statewide vote. A summary of the amendment is as follows:

To add Section 21 to Article I of the Constitution of the State of Ohio:

The proposed amendment would provide that:

1.In Ohio, no law or rule shall compel, directly or indirectly, any person, employer, or health care provider to participate in a health care system.

2. In Ohio, no law or rule shall prohibit the purchase or sale of health care or health insurance.

3. In Ohio, no law or rule shall impose a penalty or fine for the sale or purchase of health care or health insurance.

The proposed law would not:

1. Affect laws or rules in effect as of March 19, 2010.

2. Affect which services a health care provider or hospital is required to perform or provide.

3. Affect terms and conditions of government employment.

4. Affect any laws calculated to deter fraud or punish wrongdoing in the health care industry.
