Statism Explained in Two Frames

Basically. =(

There's that evil notion that looms around D.C. (and the rest of the country for that matter) that if the Constitution does not explicitly limit the Federal government from doing something, then it's fair game. The sad thing is that sometimes, even when the Constitution DOES explicitly limit the Feds from doing something, they do it anyways - typically in the name of safety (e.g. Patriot Act).

The Founders would be ashamed (most of them at least).

Hamilton and his crowd of Federalists could not possibly imagine just how much power was centralized after their successful counter-revolution. The Federalists would be beaming with pride at how much liberty has been taken away and the amount of power vested into the establishment powers that be.

The only thing that can bring a smile back to my face after thinking about early American politics is the name Aaron Burr.
