This information seemed kind of obvious to me, but still it's worth reporting. Some state governments have decided to store samples of newborn DNA -- in some cases indefinitely. And only Minnesota and Texas have the necessary forms and process to destroy the DNA samples.
For all the crap the rest of the union gives to Texas (I remind you, I'm a New York elitist), I am glad the Lone Star State is an example in this regard.

How long has this been going on, I wonder? I didn't see that in the article, but maybe I missed it. Because I want to know if they have mine.
Does the rest of the "Union" regularly give Texas crap? For what, being pro-business and pro-gun rights, or just unrepentantly awesome?
I would say many people in the North East generally consider Texas to be a backwards state full of gay-hating, lynching, gun-toting, cowboys. Pretty much what that Family Guy episode that takes place in Texas represents.
Personally, if being pro-liberty means being considered backwards, maybe we should go back to the Bronze Age.
