I was under the strange impression you guys support Ron Paul...

Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) is the continuation of Students for Ron Paul (SFP). In less than 8 months, SFP established over 500 college and high school chapters in all 50 states and over 26,000 students joined the Ron Paul 2008 campaign.

Aren't legal disclaimers fun? I don't see how the disclaimer can hold up at all, either, not that I'm a lawyer.
So does YAL have some sort of special legal status that makes these disclaimers necessary? There's no answer to this in the About section, or on the Wikipedia entry for YAL.
My best guess is that is has something to do with being a student organization on campuses that receive public funding.
I believe its a non-profit tax exemption status. Non profits can't make political endorsements, but i could be wrong. So long as YAL does not say vote for this guy (which they haven't) or give money to this guy (which they haven't) the disclaimer should hold up, because YAL doesn't endorse anyone, even Ron Paul.
"We don't say YOU should vote for him, but you bet your sweet patootie we're going to."
;)
