Rand Paul at YALCON

When thinking about YALCON this summer, the speaker I look forward to hearing from the most is Senator Rand Paul. My sophomore year of college, I had the privilege of working as a political affairs intern for his presidential campaign. I had not known about libertarian principles before, and was confused as to where exactly I stood politically, but Senator Paul’s message really resonated with me as being one that fought for individual freedoms, civil liberties, and limited government. It was at that point that I knew I wanted to be a part of the liberty movement. While the campaign has long finished and I’m now currently interning at Young Americans for Liberty, I'm excited to give other young activists who want to attend YALCON the chance to become just as inspired by the principles of liberty as I was a couple of years ago. So, while I’m personally looking forward to hearing the Senator’s thoughts, I’m more excited to see his message spread to hundreds of others who will be spurred on to become leaders within the movement and push these ideas forward.
