Defense Secretary Leon Panetta voiced confidence Friday that Iraq would agree to some continued U.S. military presence beyond the official American withdrawal at the end of the year. Mr. Panetta and top U.S. commanders have been pressing Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and other leaders for months to make up their minds about whether to ask the U.S. to keep forces in Iraq beyond Dec. 31.

Since Judith Miller and New York Times’ collusion with the Bush Administration to fool the country into war, corporate media and its brand of “journalism” has become a mere mouthpiece for the state.

Some statistics:

• 46 soldiers have died since September 1, 2010, when Rachel Maddow and the corporate media declared Iraq War’s end.
• 246 soldiers have died since Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama’s presidential inauguration.
• 66 people died in bloodiest day in Iraq since the war’s “end.”
• 32 soldiers commit suicide in July, an all-time high.
• Countless of Iraqis have died in the continuing violence there.

That Rachel Maddow and her fellow "journalists" retain any credibility is a symptom of Americans’ willful ignorance of the truth:  We are still at war.
