Newark Cop: I Can Do Whatever the Hell I Want

It was a peaceful demonstration until a Newark police officer put a CBS2 photographer in a chokehold, handcuffed him, and put him in the back of a patrol car. Here's the story:

While there are no doubt great officers out there – those who understand what the Constitution stands for and the importance of ensuring that the Rule of Law is protected – it is the bad apples, who act not as servants of the people, but rather, agents of tyranny, that have lead the majority of Americans to distrust law enforcement in general.

That officer needs to be fired. He has no business having any authority over other people. He has absolutely no business carrying a gun in public. Frankly, if I were to violently attack an innocent person in public, unprovoked, with lots of wittnesses, then I would expect to lose a carry permit. The same should apply to that police officer.

The officer's comment "I can do what ever I want" reveals 1) no respect for the law, 2) he thinks, by his position, he is above the law and 3) he disregards the rights of others. He absolutely should not be in law enforcement if he does not hold himself accountable to the law, and he was obviously out of rational control.
