Joe Lieberman is calling for a moratorium on "health care reform." While Lieberman is likely motivated by a desire to pander to the hardly principled GOP, he is a prominent figure in the establishment nonetheless. I'm happy to have his help on a very important issue. It's crucial that we preserve all capitalist institutions in this country from state takeovers.

Not exactly a capitalist institution by any stretch.
Call it a corporatist/government-controlled institution...
Libertarians are often accused of advocating for the current business establishment, even though they advocate a free market in which the business landscape would look much different, and may even include business forms such as voluntary worker-owned co-ops and such.
It should be made clear that YAL only supports business forms that arise out of voluntarily behavior. Sticking up for the current corporatist landscape (or even leaving oneself liable to the criticism) isn't the best strategy.
Jack,
I'm not unaware of the state's massive intervention into the health care industry. I uphold the non-aggression principle and thus oppose Medicare, Medicaid, the NIH, corporate subsidies, and other state schemes. I do think the current system, which at least has some semblance of choice and capitalism, is superior to the President's plan. I should've been more precise in my language, because while some capitalistic structures remain, the current health care system is nowhere close to a free market.
