L.E.A.P (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition) is coming to Liberty University. President of L.E.A.P. Neil Franklin has agreed to come to Liberty to speak on the war on drugs in the United States and its consequences.
Franklin is a 33-year veteran of the Maryland State Police and the Baltimore Police forces. He oversaw 17 drug task forces, and instituted and directed the very first Domestic Violence Investigative Units for the Maryland State Police.
Neil Franklin will speak on November 18th at 7 P.M.

This is great, LEAP came to VCU when I was a freshman and it provided a very good presentation. Try to get people who are on the fence to go, it won't be that much of a help if it is just attended by people who are already against the drug war.
This is wonderful news, I hope that the college students can learn the truth about Marijuana in this war on drugs, and realize it is the war on drugs itself that has ravaged this nation so badly. Marijuana especially should not be considered a drug because it is a naturally growing plant. It is not produced by the drug companies and not advertized for a profit like all of the manufactured drugs are and therefore should be removed from the DEA's listing Class 1 dangerous drugs. Marijuana has many medicinal benefits with no side effects regardless of whether the FDA recognizes those medicinal benefits or not. Most of the manufactured drugs sold in todays markets have multiple possible dangerous side effects, but yet the FDA in it's infinite wisdom says these side effects are acceptable.
I'm really excited that they are willing to come to Liberty, the school that started the Moral Majority. It's part of a lecture series I'm working on. Starting with LEAP, then hopefully GOPROUD and maybe even an Imam.
