From the New York Times comes a story of 6 year old child sentenced to 45 days in reform school:
Zachary’s offense? Taking a camping utensil that can serve as a knife, fork and spoon to school. He was so excited about recently joining the Cub Scouts that he wanted to use it at lunch. School officials concluded that he had violated their zero-tolerance policy on weapons, and Zachary was suspended and now faces 45 days in the district’s reform school.
It seems his family is homeschooling him while trying to overturn the ruling. I would have thought this would be enough to turn anyone away from government education once and for all. Zachary himself seems to have gotten the right idea:
For Zachary, it is not school violence that has left him reluctant to return to classes.
“I just think the other kids may tease me for being in trouble,” he said, pausing before adding, “but I think the rules are what is wrong, not me.”
Out of the mouth of babes, I guess?

This kid is my new hero... sticking it to the public school system.
That's horrible. Punishing a 6 year old for something so ridiculous?
Out of the mouth of babes, indeed.
President Obama needs to look at creating a new Federal Agency to tackle issues like this one. There are just way too many 6 year olds bringing sporks to school these days. You know, set it up like the TSA and make sure kids understand that it's okay to surrender your rights so that Big Brother can control 'provide' for you. /sarcasm
to say that any thing like this. Cause we all know the state knows that we simpletons know nothing of our way. That's why playgrounds have been seriously neutered and children are playing video games if they are lucky considering the playgrounds have been ruined? Has anybody else seen what ever has happened to their elementry school playgrounds from once they were children? Mine is full of plastic nonesense.
What a smart kid!

It's good to know the government is looking out for the cafeteria meat loaf.
