Is Obama planning a totalitarian "War on Obesity?"

Though the President is currently distracted with catchy phrases like "health care reform," and "cap and trade," I think Anthony Gregory is correct in anticipating an upcoming state-sponsored "war on obesity."  I can see the press conference now... A bunch of morbidly obese youth lined up behind Obama with sugar-free Jello in hand, smiling as their God-King pontificates about taxing Krispy Kreme donuts and imposing "common sense limits" on "restaurant portions."

Drawing from my "expertise," as someone who has fluctuated from a bit chubby to rather fit a couple times in my life, I can say the answer to the "fatty crisis" is simple: "Eat less, exercise more." Indeed, lack of effort and self control may not be the culprit in all cases of obesity, but it sure is in a great many of them. And putting aside the moral problems of coercion, no government program will reduce obesity, since they are too politically correct to candidly discuss the causes and social ramifications of it.

What if we went around watching everything skinny people did all day? What if their habits were worn on their bodies? I think they are in hell. We go through ours here, and though we try hard to lose weight, it is very difficult unless you are in your 20's or 30's.  I doubt that anyone skinny would want me or anyone else following them into the bathroom I wish their sins showed on their bodies...OR BEDROOM to watch what they do that is sinful.  Wait a minute...they do show! They have that arrognat sneer on their lips, if you watch obama and clinton you will see it right away. ...and they have that scowl in between their eyebrows...just like ahmadinejab.......or MIchelle obama.....OH, I heard Michelle Obama has gained so much weight that she will not appear in public....notice how you only see her back from extremely far away, or see obama with the two girls?

I suppose we should stop vaccinations as well too, after all vaccinations are oppressive and totatalitarian because they impede on our 'freedom'. Speeding tickets are totalitarian too, they stop us from doing 'whatever we want'.

In the article link above this statement was made:

To truly solve this, or make it the most manageable and tolerable problem it can be, the answer is more freedom and personal responsibility. Make people pay the full price of what they eat, both at the grocery store and later in life in the form of health care. This sounds callous to the left, even as they advocate rationing and mandates on the obese.

This is backwards logic at its worse. How does giving people more 'freedom' solve anything in this situation? Clearly the reason all these people are obese is because they are lazy slobs and through their 'freedom' are allowed to be a useless eyesore. Obviously, I see the point of encouraging responsibility by haulting government intervention, but clearly we live in a prosperous and wealthy country of truly disgusting and unhealthy people and 'liberty' doesn't solve anything.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not an Obama fan or a fan of the Democrats at all, but the idea that it is 'totalitarian' to want to stop the sickening spread of obesity is childish.

Anonymous-  thanks for your comment... :]

In my view, it would be totalitarian to want to declare a "war" on obesity. Somebody is going to be coerced into paying it, and peaceful people will also be coerced into participating in it. I think the rise in obesity demonstrates that a great many cases come down to bad personal habits, esp. when contrasted with historical obesity rates and current one's in other first-world nation's like Japan.
