The Bureaucrash blog cites a Washington Post article about "one of the largest construction projects in the Washington area since the Pentagon was built in the 1940s," namely the Department of Homeland Security's plan for new headquarters in D.C.  Priced at $3.4 billion, the facilities would house 14,000 of the goliath agency's 200,000 employees.  Construction would begin next year, and last until 2016, a long term project which advocates claim will help support the impoverished section of the city in which the facility would be located, despite the fact that it will be secured by no less than two layers of protective fencing.  In the meantime, Homeland Security is hard at work making it more difficult for travelers to enter the country by requiring advance online registration.

...because we all know the terrorists are stopped by the internet.

$3.4 BILLION? Our Congress (excluding Ron Paul and a hand full of others) is way pass insane. In 71, they were just insane. Today however, they are complacent fatcats, usurpers of the U.S. Constitution, and a severe financial and civil liberties drag on our downward spiraling freedoms and economy. They have somehow learned to believe that 'money DOES grow on tree's, but forget that their excessive use of our money [i.e. bailouts] often comes at the expense of our civil liberties." When it comes to 'money or our civil liberties', they'll take the money 99.9% of the time. Cui Bono?

We can call it the Ministry of Love, or Miniluv in Newspeak, of course, naturally including Gitmo (also in Newspeak)! We can also thank our Ministries of Plenty (congress), Truth (FCC), and Peace (the Pentegon). Airstrip One is so nice this time of year.. Well, I guess I'll finish my Victory coffee and get on to my two minutes hate.. "THAT CURSED RON PAUL!" *HISS*
