Government School Propaganda in Texas

This story gets more and more ridiculous:

The Dean of Students responded that the teacher admitted that she has been distributing handouts all year without required pre-approval from the head of the social studies department. She has been giving these out to all of her classes, not just the AP class. She has always collected the handouts at the end of the class period and has never allowed the handouts to be taken home.

There's more background information here.

Soooo...wait....what's not true about this???

It's bad enough how it is.

But the fact that you have an AP class that needs to be taught Conservative vs. Liberal?

Sadder.

What's not true about it?  To name a few:

  • It is modern liberals that have a pessimistic view of human nature.  Both liberals and conservatives want everyone to be happy and healthy, but modern liberals think people are too pathetic to achieve that on their own, and conservatives believe that freedom (lack of government / free markets) is the only way to maximize everyone's prosperity.
  • Modern liberals also favor rapid movement towards unconstitutional government, while conservatives want to conserve constitutional government.
  • Also, conservatives read and write more than modern liberals.

This is using the current definition of "conservative" and "liberal".  The true meaning of the words are mostly the opposite of how they are used today, which is why the existence of the word "libertarian" is necessary, since bastards bastardized the word "liberal".
