Eight States Declare Sovereignty

Because Texas already has that provision in their Constitution, so doing it again would be superfluous. Makes me almost wish I lived in Arizona again. I may have to do some bill-drafting here in Colorado (that's what I used to do for the State Capital here) and get it going here, or put on the ballot or something.

I'm still in shock Washington is on that list. Had no luck with Rep. Dicks or the Senators, though. All three are pretty much wetting their pants about legislation that was just passed to get more federal intervention in WA healthcare and now they're trying to get more state money from the stimulus package (up to $4 billion). Gregoire loves her puppets.

Check out this website for Patriots that don’t like the “change” Obama has in mind for our country. http://www.resistnet.com/

Same with South Carolina, though I don't really think it would stop Sanford.

I share most of your veiws, I have been lurking here for a while. I am not smart enough to argue most of the points you folks talk about so I stay in the shadows. However this is just a joke. There is no way these could get traction and pass IMPOSSIBLE in fact. http://www.hofstra.edu/PDF/law_gey_paper.pdf It's just a bunch of butt hurt Republicans (I am a Republican) trying to make a statment to undermine the current balance of power.

True Jason, but there it is a sign of the times none the less. Rather bleak.

I guess, at 67, I'm not a young American; but after following politics for 49 years as both a Democrat and a Republican, I can give you young Americans the results of my experience. I'm afraid we're beyond hoping that our reminding Washington about the Constitutions's provision for state sovereignty will do any good. If there's one thing Washington's made clear, it's their disdain for the Constitution. The Articles of Confederation had a provision disallowing states to secede, but the framers of the Constitution, which replaced the Articles, decided to leave out the "union in perpetuity" clause. If we conservative states seceded, there would be 20 Liberal (Socialist) states and 30 Conservative states. They would have a half million square miles, and we would have two and a half million. Their murder rate per 100,000 citizens would be 13.2, and ours would be 2.1. They would have to work five months to pay their taxes and we would have to work two. Their married mothers would almost have to work, and ours could stay home and raise children. On every street corner, they'd have a pawn shop and a porno shop, and we'd have a thriving business and a church. Their schools would indoctrinate, and ours would educate. Their disruptive students would get counseled, and ours would get spanked. Their murderers and rapists would get free room and board, and ours would get executed. They'd have mosques full of subversives, and we'd have churches full of patriots. Eventually, their military would be weak, and ours would be strong. They'd be energy DEpendent, and we'd be energy INdependent. Our Federal Government is irretrievably going down, and if we don't QUICKLY cut ourselves loose, they will take us with them. This is a much more important message to give our elected representatives than wasting our time trying to get Washington to abide by the Constitution.

Lol. Im going to have to take you to the courthouse for talking out of your ***, mike jones. 1st, the only thing factual in your entire post was maybe the landmasses. Other than the fact that none of the states are 100% blue or red.... As for murder rate, the highest murder rate is ALABAMA, at 8.9. So good job making up numbers there. As for businesses, last I checked most business headquarters were in the largest cities, indepedent of red or blue. As for military, most of the members of the military are the working class, which are usually more democratic than republican. As for economy, most of our major ports except for Texas are in blue states. As for porno shops, youre just making stupid crap up. As for pawn shops, again, making things up. As for education, last I checked, running school funding off of property tactics just creates a big nasty inequality in education standards. Stop being such a whiny secessionist butt-hurt republican. Its really embarrassing to the rest of Americans who actually care about the Union that has muscled on for 200 years.

Austin You seem to be the typical Democrat. By looking at just one of your remarks makes me quite sure the rest are all in the same category. Bull crap!!!! You say "As for military, most of the members of the military are the working class, which are usually more democratic than republican. " Apparently, like most Democrats you were never in the Military. The American Military is predominantly Republician. The Democrat Party is quite aware of this. This is why the soldiers absentee ballots are always lost or "SORRY - Can't be counted because they arrived late." This has become a joke. Also are you aware that in excess of 75% of 'ALL' American soldiers have at least attained a BA! Keep Dreaming Pal retired USA 1sg.

It's funny how you are still stuck in the democrat republican, red blue paradigm. Some people never learn ...

"Although Fox News and CNN are not telling you about it, a growing number of states are declaring sovereignty. Washington, New Hampshire, Arizona, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, California, and Georgia have all introduced bills and resolutions declaring sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment. Colorado, Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Alaska, Kansas, Alabama, Nevada, Maine, and Illinois are considering such measures." http://www.azleg.gov/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/legtext/49leg/1r/bills/hc...

Dawn, I'm proud to be from one of those states, but declaring sovereignty or ANYTHING - and using for your justification ANY PART of the constitution - means nothing to a Federal Government that is ignoring the constitution. We've got to secede - preferably with the other conservative states - and we've got to do it quickly. When Obama signs that "stimulus" bill today, our Republic is doomed, our free market economy is doomed, our sovereignty is doomed, and our Constitution is doomed. Optimism and the never-give-up-attitude are wonderful, but we can no longer ignore the elephant in the room. Or should I say the bionic donkey?
