Having lived in New Hampshire for a while, I have witness how apathetic people are out there. It is not a value judgement, I refuse to vote in general, but it is true. There were no real protests or political actions of any kind, except the occasional signs around simply telling people vote for the democratic Schmuck or the republic Schmuck. As long as said Schmuck would niether change much or regulate their ludicrous gun collections and hunting habits they were happy. Thusly probably nobody really cares, overall New Hampshire is a fairly self-sufficient state.
As for the final statement about projects like this causing the 1 trillion dollar debt, that is just stupid. There are two reasons for that debt, one called Iraq and the other Afghanistan. Pork-barrel like this is easily less than 10% of that debt, if not far far lower.
That said, this project is really really idiotic, completely so in fact. To that effect schools in New Hampshire are really really bad and even that small amount of money could have helped some.
Also as a former resident of Wilton, I have many four letter words to describe Concord.
