Obviously the Model-T Ford example is doesn't really belong to the "subjective moral standards applied to all by force of government" group, but it still makes a nice introduction to History's Most Useless Promises.

Ask some Native Americans if they think you can trust the goverment's promises.
I mean really?! thats your opinion of history's MOST useless promises? do your research, its way worse than that. And whoever designs that web page, I suggest digging deeper for better material to post on your home page. Why waste your time to draw something that only addresses cookie cutter issues like that. There are bigger things to expose than that.
This is a comic. Comics often employ hyperbole to make a point, get a laugh, or both. I'm guessing Nicholas doesn't think these are the most useless promises in history. He's just pointing out that they're pretty bad.
Yeah- harsh, dude.
Seriously. I was a little tempted to reply with, "Use your apostrophes. Your rhetoric is way more crushing that way."
