Name: Dr. Arthur (Art) Robinson

Family: Art and his late wife Laurelee, have six children.
Personal Biography: Dr. Art Robinson is a skilled businessman, scientist, and educator. After graduating from CalTech and receiving his PhD from the University of California at San Diego, Robinson became a faculty member and pursued his career in science. Later on he and his wife moved to a farm in Oregon where they founded the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine -- which accepts no government funding -- and developed a home schooling program that is now used by over 60,000 home-schooled children.
Political Biography: In 2010, Robinson decided to challenge incumbent Rep. Peter DeFazio and enter the political arena to represent his constitutional principles to Washington. His decision to face Rep. DeFazio in 2012 has been welcomed by farm and forestry professionals, educators, and businessmen. He has been endorsed by Rep. Ron Paul, Life and Liberty PAC, and Steve Forbes among others.

General Election: November 6, 2012
The District: In 2010, Robinson was the Republican nominee who faced 13-term incumbent Congressman Peter DeFazio and finished with nearly a ten-point margin. Recent polling shows Robinson is already within the striking distance he claimed in 2010, with only ground to gain in this increasingly tight race.
