Spring Break in Kentucky

Inspired by Ron Paul's Christmas Vacation in Iowa, YAL's Spring Break in Kentucky bring together YAL members from across the country for a full week of civics education.

Lodging, food, training, materials, and transportation within Kentucky will be provided for all attendees thank to the generosity of YAL donors.

For 2 days you will receive top-notch political training, and for the remaining 3 days you will use the knowledge you gained to work for the campaign of your choice.  YAL's Spring Break in Kentucky will act as the launching pad for YAL's campaign activities in 2010.  Please join us and apply today.

All YAL members (ages 15-39) who want to make a direct impact in the political process are encouraged to apply (click here for the application). After completing the application, the YAL staff will review your submission and respond with more information shortly.  A competitive application process is expected, so please apply early.

The top graduates of this week will be offered jobs and internships on campaigns and initiatives across the country. This could be your big break to work for the R3volution!

Schedule

You are expected to arrive on Monday afternoon, March 15th. You will attend 2 days of intense political training on March 16th and 17th. The remaining 3 days, you will have the opportunity to work with the campaign of your choice.  You must depart from the camp on Sunday morning, March 21st. Jobs & Internships

The top graduates from the camp will be hand-picked to work with freedom campaigns and initiatives across the country. Most positions will last through November. This is your opportunity to find a job or internship and work for the R3volution, don't miss out!

Location

YAL's Spring Break in Kentucky will be held at the beautiful Camp Crescendo, located just south of Louisville, KY.

Transportation

You are responsible for transportation to the campsite and back home. Camp Crescendo is located approximately 35 minutes south of the Louisville International Airport. All attendees driving to Kentucky are expected to arrive and park at the campsite. If you are flying into Louisville International Airport, transportation to and from the airport will be provided. You must arrive on Monday, March 15, and leave Sunday March 21.

Dress

You should wear business casual attire during the training session (2 days). Slacks and a polo or shirt for the guys and dress or khakis for the girls. During your field work, you should plan on wearing casual clothing (3 days). You should look presentable and remain politically neutral. That means no political shirts, buttons, stickers, etc.

Lodging

You will be staying within the dormitory facilities at Camp Crescendo. The facilities are air-conditioned and heated. There are 4 bunk beds to a room. Be sure to bring adequate toiletries, including soap, shampoo, towels, and other essentials.

Food

Meals and/or payments for meals will provided for all attendees their entire stay.

Cost

Thanks to generous YAL donors, food, training, materials, and lodging for your entire stay in Kentucky will only be $30. After filling out the application to attend, those accepted will be instructed on how to proceed with payment.
