The Leadership Institute's activist School is their entry-level program to teach you proven organizational and communication techniques. You will learn both how to build a grassroots organization and the tactics for successful grassroots lobbying. The school is suitable for novice activists.

1 or 2 day formats available, $100-$150 (meals included)

Ideal attendees for the Activist School are center-right public policy organization staff, conservative individuals or groups working on ballot initiatives, propositions, or referenda, or those interested in volunteering or working for a conservative candidate, cause, or issue at the local or state level.

Lectures given in the one day school are:

  •  Developing a Persuasive Message
  •  Recruiting and Motivating Volunteers
  •  Building Coalitions
  •  Grassroots Lobbying
  •  Petition Drives
  •  Fundraising-Direct Mail
  •  Earned/Paid Media


A second day adds these additional lectures:

  •  Designing Direct Mail
  •  Effective Debate Techniques
  •  Door-to-Door
  •  Learning How to Table
  •  Basics of Field Organizing
  •  Developing Collateral
  •  Handling Negative Information
  •  Developing a Winning Message
