The 2009 Young Americans for Liberty National Convention is being held from July 30th to August 2nd at the Leadership Institute in Arlington, VA.
This first ever, sold out, YAL National Convention is a three day event bringing together the top liberty-minded activists from around the country to receive some of the best political training in the world. Not only will students obtain world class training, but also have the opportunity Thursday evening to network with other organizations and, if the House finishes up, hear from our very special keynote speaker: Congressman Ron Paul!
The Thursday evening roof-top reception will also play host to two other very special speakers: Dr. Ivan Eland and Adam Kokesh!
Dr. Ivan Eland is currently a Senior Fellow and Director of the Center on Peace and Liberty at the Independent Institute. Having authored many works including "The Empire Has No Clothes: U.S. Foreign Policy Exposed" and "Partitioning for Peace: An Exit Strategy for Iraq" he will provide a unique opportunity for students to engage one of the leading libertarian and non-interventionist scholars in the world.
Adam Kokesh is a former United States Marine Corps Reserve Corporal and veteran of the Iraq War who has become an outspoken critic of U.S. occupation and wars of aggression. Adam has been extremely active in a host of protests and events - speaking at both Ron Paul's Washington D.C. march and Rally for the Republic - and is currently running for the 3rd Congressional of New Mexico.
Throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, it is with great pride that YAL has confirmed the Leadership Institute Staff along with three of the best and most experienced professionals in the business to train you in all aspects of campus organizing, grassroots guerilla activism, and campaign management. This will no doubt be the best, most intense, training available. Training will be provided by:
Leadership Institute Staff and
John Tate, President of Campaign for Liberty
Mike Rothfeld, President of Saber Communications
Doug Stafford, Vice-President of National Right to Work
There is certainly no debating that YAL nationwide has already begun to have a significant impact in educating and recruiting their peers and communities to the cause of liberty. With the tools and techniques attendees will garner at the 2009 YAL National Convention the strides that have been made over the past year will exponentially grow as new chapters form, existing ones flourish, and we all stand united to save our Republic and the Constitution.
