I'm glad John brought up Ron Paul. The neo-con portion of the tea party movement definatley doesn't have much room to be angry about fiscal irresponsibility, like Stewart said. Getting the message out that Libertarians have been against spending for MANY YEARS prior to Obama, is going to be a challenge considering the Neo-Con noise machine loves taking credit for a libertarian movement =P. That being said, a new poll by the Des Moines Register shows that (at least in my state) that about 50% of Tea Party supporters, consider themselves independent of a political party. This means that a good chunk of people in the movement are not affiliated with the Neo-Conservatives, which is a good sign that people identify with the movement of liberty for what it is...not what fox news says it is. Also, 33% of likely voters would vote for a Tea Party candidate. This is a good sign for getting party status for Libertarians here in Iowa (and hopefully around America) =D
