'Debate the issues, YAF,' Says Ron Paul Youth Org
Young Americans for Liberty Calls for YAF to stop acting like children
WASHINGTON, DC--After Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) called Texas Congressman Ron Paul "off his meds" and "delusional" and said his policies "may be treason" in a bizarre publicity stunt at CPAC, Jeff Frazee of Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) published an Op-Ed in the Daily Caller today demanding civility within the conservative movement.
"This is my final attempt to reach out to YAF's leadership publically," said Frazee, National Youth Coordinator for Ron Paul 2008 and now Executive Director of YAL. "I hope YAF's members (current and former) will apply pressure to its leadership to debate the issues and not attack their allies."
Frazee referenced the "great relationship" the two organizations shared before YAF's unprovoked attack on Ron Paul. "But it saddens me to see YAF's leadership spend more time now attacking their friends than their foes," Frazee said.
He called for a civil debate on foreign policy if maturity can be restored.
"For our generation's sake, I hope we can move past these ill-advised attacks and unify our movement around civility," Frazee concluded.
