Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter has decided to change his political party affiliation from Republican to Democrat. In the past, when there were actual differences between the parties, this might have been a truly meaningful act of political rebellion against a party that has so thoroughly lost its way. Of course in today's one party system, a legislator moving from one wing of the party to another will make little to no difference whatsoever. Ron Paul's latest "Texas Straight Talk" is on the topic of secession. That subject has ignited a firestorm of controversy recently when Governor Rick Perry of Texas made remarks about a state's right to secede from the Union. Dr. Paul writes:

I've got to give the Washington Post credit for their headline choice. On the top of the page and in the subject line of the news update email I got from them this morning was an excellent headline stating "Obama Rejects Truth Panel." When I clicked on the link, I found the subtitle even better: "Commission Would Have Investigated Abuses in Terrorism Fight." Arguably biased language? Yes. An accurate depiction of the situation?
