Free Speech Wall
Building a Free Speech wall is a big project but if you do it right, you can get an even bigger return on your investment. The free speech wall is a great compliment to any Generation of War display to engage students. To help you build your free speech wall, you can apply for a $100 Activism Grant to purchase materials.
In the past, YAL Chapters have had overwhelming success with Free Speech Walls. Check out examples of Free Speech Walls at Slippery Rock University, the University of Texas-Austin, St. Norbert College, the University of Kansas. Ask your Regional or state chair for more ideas on potential Generation of War activism events.
This year, let's mix it up a bit! Start the conversation by writing a question on your Free Speech Wall: "How old were you on 9/11?" or "What does freedom mean to you?" or "How can we stop terrorism?" -- or just label it "Free Speech Wall."
